So here we are again. Monday. Repeat after me, Monday! Yes, it’s the day where everyone heads into work only to complain about it being Monday. Funny isn’t it? Ask yourself this though. Why do you hate Monday’s? Is it because you hate your job? Do you despise Monday because it takes you away from your family and loved ones after two days and three nights of togetherness? If this applies to you, then why haven’t you made Monday your favourite day of the week? Let me explain in a little more detail.
Think of what you enjoy most? What do you love doing? How you love feeling? Now, think of how you can incorporate all these aspects into your Monday? Instead of second guessing, I’m going to run through my usual Monday routine of sorts.
What do I love?
Music, film, exercise, live theatre, reading, travel, football, eating food and good company.
How do I incorporate these loves into my Monday?
Reading (20-30 pages of a book before getting up), exercise (walk to work or a gym session), music (listen to an album I have never heard before or a podcast I enjoy), good company (work buddies), eating food (sushi for dinner at The Barracks) and films (seeing a $7 film at Palace Barracks).
See how easy it is to break your Monday down into an enjoyable one doing the things you love? Whilst not being able to incorporate all my loves (football, theatre and travel) into the day, I’ve managed to make it a brilliant day none the less. It isn’t difficult, so why do so many of us choose to make it hard to enjoy Monday? Start your new “Monday” routine today and incorporate as many of your loves into your Monday and you will soon see how easy it can be to making not just Monday enjoyable but setting up a platform for a most enjoyable week. You only have one opportunity at life so start making Monday’s great again!
