Human rights? What human rights?

Have you heard of the IPA?  Of course you haven’t!

The IPA, otherwise known as the Institute for Public Affairs – a lobby group for big business has been caught out.  Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott is a open supporter of the IPA.  Nothing wrong with that is there?  Well, the IPA is funded by Telstra, Monsanto, BHP, tobacco companies, oil companies and Tasmania’s largest logging company, GUNNS.

Tim Wilson, a former policy director of the IPA is now Australia’s Human Rights Commissioner.

I kid you not!

So what has Australia’s Human Rights Commissioner got to say?  Well, let’s look at this tweet he posted regarding the Occupy Melbourne protest.

Yep, send in the water cannons!  This from a man who is Australia’s Human Rights Commissioner.  A man who’s job is to protect human rights.

Ohh, just in case you were wondering the IPA was founded in part in 1942 by none other than Keith Murdoch, father of current IPA Chairmen, Rupert Murdoch.  New of The World anyone????

It is a crying shame that Australia has become a land of greed fuelled corruption led by a Prime Minister that is stuck in the 1950s.  Our only hope is to vote Tony Abbott out in a landslide at the next federal election.  If Abbott wins another term in office……well, who knows how much more damage he will do?????
