As you do when travelling, I made a foray to the local grocery store this morning to see what sort of oddities I could find.
There was very little in the way of breakfast cereal so I had to settle for these. It was either this or some rather shady looking musli. Choco Balls!
Then on the way out at the checkout I couldn’t notice an array of alcoholic shots being sold for just 55 Euro cents a pop!
Actually, the largest selection of any product in the store was alcohol. It was absolutely everywhere! Two dedicated aisles with even more splashed on the ends in promotional bins.
Slovakia has blown me on so many levels yet this experience has to be one of the most surreal. And the strange thing about all this is that despite being a nation of alcoholics, Slovakia doesn’t have a fraction of the problems Australia do with alcohol fuelled violence?
Does this say something about Australian people and alcohol?????
