It’s time to listen!

As is always the case I am one who loves to explore new bands and artists.  Recently there have been some fantastic new songs that have blown me away so I thought it best I share them with you.

First up we have the brilliant new single from Bloc Party, “Ratchet”.  I expect this one to become a most popular tune in the coming months.  It has become the backing track to promote the new English Premier League season and will be heard in bars around the nation all through the summer months.

The next band off the rank is a splendid Liverpool act that goes by the name of The Tea Street Band.  Their single, “Summer Dreaming” has set the UK music scene alive.  You can’t help but enjoy the driving beats and gentle vocals that make you wish with every listen you were on the beach watching the sun set with good friends by your side.  If you don’t have The Tea Street Band on your iPod by Christmas then consider your musical journey of 2013 an epic failure!

Champions of Scotland, Franz Ferdinand have been off the radar for nigh on four years.  Thankfully they have returned with a new album and the lead single, “Love Illumination” which is on the A-List for BBC Radio at the moment.  Life is always going to be better when these lads have new music for us to embrace.

Sarah Blasko is the queen of Australian music.  As the drones continue to soak up the bullshit reality/karaoke shows Sarah Blasko marches on releasing some fantastic tunes your ears need to hear.  Her latests single, “All Of Me”, the third from her award winning album “I Awake” is backed by a provocative and stylish video that has to be seen to be believed.

Silent Sleep are the fifth and final pick for you to enjoy.  These guys also hail from Merseyside.  They have a debut album that you can find in the shops or in iTunes…..make sure you grab yourself a copy.  For now you can enjoy this great video and song, “You Can Colour Me In”, which will soon enough will be used in a TV commercial somewhere in the world to sell a car or a tablet or something else entirely.
