Simply beautiful!

Last Sunday night I found myself strolling the streets of Hamburg with my good friend Matthew  and we stumbled along something that was just too beautiful to ignore.  The images I snapped on my camera do not even begin to do justice to the sheer beauty of the swans that were themselves enjoying the evening sunshine by the water.

There are moments in life where you stop to smell the roses and this certainly was one of those moments.  Experiences like this don’t cost you any money and you can take as long as you like to take the moment in.  Such majestic creatures too.

These stunning creatures are among the worlds largest flying birds and their wingspan can reach nigh on three metres when in full flight.  It really is something to behold, one of those moments when you are glad you are on the road travelling.  It is hard to imagine that during the reign of Elizabeth I swans were considered a high end delicacy for the wealthy.

A perfect day travelling around Hamburg which had begun watching St. Pauli avoid relegation in the German second division, eating some great food in an Irish pub and then walking the streets in search of magical sights.

And magical sights we did find.
