A second chance

Sometimes you burn bridges with little or no intention.  It can simply be a case of drifting apart and before you know it there is little you know of your once good friend any longer.  A time where you both spent many hours sharing adventures and fun dissipates into thin air.

Part of my happiness project this year was to improve my battle torn friendships and restore what was once shared.  Two weeks ago I swallowed some pride and called up a friend who, for no reason in particular drifted away last year.  We had shared many good times hanging out together yet I had not seen her in months.  We had barely spoken spoken at all over the past year if the truth be told.
We arranged to meet up for some dinner and and catch a film in the city and what turned out was a memorable evening jam packed with laughter, sharing stories and swapping banter.
I need to do more of this.  It makes such a difference in life to have good people around you and sharing laughter on a regular basis. As the year progresses I am going to enjoy some wonderful times re-building long lost friendships and continuing to foster those friendships I have always held near and dear.
